Raid SB along with All Skill No Luck are launching a new non-profit called The Star-Board Foundation. SBF will have two primary objectives, first is to share skateboarding with kids from all walks of life, especially children from Gold Star families. Using skating as a tool to get kids outside and active, as well as teaching them life lessons inherent in skateboarding to build strong character and create a positive environment. Part of the mission will be sending kids to skate camps like Woodward and YMCA Skate Camp.
The second objective of SBF is to use skating as an alternative from of medicine for people with PTSD, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. Raid SB is partnering up with other companies to fund-raise for the launch of SBF and begin production of "The Less Violent Project", a documentary about Veterans and skateboarding. The Less Violent Project will feature veterans who use skating as a form of therapy. The goal is to create a nation wide family of support, organize group skate sessions and host skateboarding events. We know that activities like "action sports" can help with things like PTSD and anxiety, we want to bring that information mainstream.
